The Playbook
Resolute Way phase one is about 2.1 miles of new roadway connecting Interstate 565 to Redstone Gateway near Gate 9, Redstone Arsenal's main entrance. The City says the work changes the Exit 13 ramp at Madison Boulevard for direct access to the gate and adds about a mile of weave/merge distance on eastbound I-565, in a corridor carrying more than 140,000 vehicles a day. What is not explained. 256 Today mentions the earlier $11.5 million state agreement, but neither it nor the City pages we read explain how the $10.8 million grant fits with that agreement. Treat the combined total as unconfirmed. Use these steps before planning around the road: 1. Date your assumption. Write down which layer you are relying on and its date. A design contract or grant announcement is not a construction start. 2. Watch design completion. The City's own milestone is design complete in mid-2027. Until that record appears, any construction date remains reported, not scheduled. 3. Look for the reconciling record. A Council action, agreement amendment, or official grant release that shows how the state and federal money combine is the next fact that changes the picture. 4. Keep the bridge separate. 256 Today reports a later phase that would bridge I-565 to Governors West. No source we read attaches money or a date to it.
